Are you a woman who is looking for investment for your early stage US based business or thinking about starting one? Are you interested in using your assets to support women entrepreneurs? If you answered yes to either question, the Columbia Alumni Association/Golden Seeds event on February 25 at 6:30 PST is for you. Although women own 42% of businesses in the US, they get barely 2% of investment, with an even smaller per capita investment for women entrepreneurs of color. Learn what it is like to raise money in the US by listening to a successful entrepreneur – hear from an angel investor about the US start-up
venture market and what it takes to be an angel investor.

Rita Hansen is the founder and CEO of OnBoard Dynamics, which offers a mobile platform that enables fleet managers and others to lower their fuel costs and carbon emission profiles by simplifying the compression of natural gas. Founded in 2013, Onboard Dynamics is helping lead the clean fuel revolution with a mobile compressor can accept any low pressure natural gas or a renewable natural gas source and compress it for use as a cost-effective, clean fuel for vehicles or means of transport. Golden Seeds first invested in OnBoard Dynamics in 2018. Rita specializes in startup and early phase environments with an emphasis on domestic and international opportunities in the clean tech, alternative energy and renewables, and sustainability arenas. With more than 30 years of engineering, operations and project management experience, Rita has led major projects in a diverse set of industries, including steel manufacturing, building products and electronic components manufacturing, distribution and warehousing, telecommunications, and software development. Rita holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree from the University of Washington.


Lorana Quintero, P.E. '19SPS is a licensed professional civil engineer, a strategy and business operations advisor and consultant, and an angel investor with Golden Seeds. Lorana was introduced to Golden Seeds through the SoCal Columbia Alumni group, and was drawn to membership with the organization by her shared mission to support and empower women entrepreneurs. Lorana has held several positions in the engineering and construction industries, including most recently running strategy for a Fortune 500 company. She has also run a multi-million-dollar franchised business and currently specializes in helping startups to medium-sized organizations successfully and sustainably scale. Lorana holds a BS in Civil Engineering, an MBA, and most recently an MS in Technology Management from Columbia University.
