Join Columbia College Women (CCW) for a conversation between two rising stars in the entertainment industry — Supriya Ganesh CC’19 and Maya Ho CC’18. Ganesh will discuss her path from the College to appearing in well-known TV shows and films like The Pitt, grown·ish, Billions, Law & Order: SVU, Spoiler Alert and Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game. She will be joined by Ho, chief of staff at Creative Artists Agency, one of the world’s largest talent agencies, who works with the CEO and broader executive team on strategy, operations, internal and external stakeholder management and other strategic priorities. Yobo Bello-Asemota CC’19, CCW executive board member and VP at ValueAct Capital, will provide introductions and closing remarks.
Supriya Ganesh CC’19 is an American actress of Indian origin. She was raised in New Delhi, where she began acting in its vibrant theater scene. While at the College, she started to pursue roles in TV and film. Her credits include a recurring arc on grown-ish as well as a supporting role in the indie film Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game. Currently, she plays Dr. Samira Mohan in the Max medical drama The Pitt. When she’s not acting, Ganesh enjoys Szechuan food and traveling, particularly to beaches. She resides in NYC with her cat, Rosie.
Maya Ho CC’18 is chief of staff at Creative Artists Agency, where she works with the CEO and broader executive team on strategy, operations, internal and external stakeholder management, and other strategic priorities. Previously, she was an investor in Apollo Global Management’s $75 billion private equity group, where she executed and led Apollo’s $760 million structured investment in Legendary Entertainment, the production company behind Dune, The Dark Knight, Interstellar and The Hangover. She is co-chair of the Columbia College Young Leaders Council board, serves on the Columbia College Women board and the Museum of Chinese in America advisory board. Ho earned a bachelor’s in financial economics.
Yobo Bello-Asemota CC’19 is a VP at San Francisco-based activist hedge fund, ValueAct Capital. Prior to joining ValueAct, she lived in New York City and worked in infrastructure private equity at EQT and healthcare investment banking at Morgan Stanley. She currently serves on the Columbia College Women executive board, the Columbia College Young Leaders Council board, the Young Professionals Board (Bravo! Council) of the San Francisco Opera and is an Ambassador for Tipping Point, a nonprofit tackling poverty in the Bay Area. Bello-Asemota earned a double bachelor’s in economics-philosophy and Hispanic studies and graduated with honors.
