CUE | Logline Workshop with Laura Brennan

This event will take place virtually at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT. Not in EDT or PDT? Check your time zone.

“Laura teaches you to sell fire in hell.” – Nikki Toscano (TV Writer/Producer of Hunters and 24: Legacy)

“For me and many other clients, Laura is quite simply the ‘Pitch Whisperer.’” – Matt Greenberg (Screenwriter, Pet Sematary)

Columbia University Entertainment (CUE) returns with a logline workshop moderated by Katherine Chang '01CC, president of CUE, featuring acclaimed pitching consultant, Laura Brennan. The Zoom webinar will include workshopping loglines live as well as an Audience Q&A, so bring your questions.

As screenwriters, we've all been there. You've finally finished your beautiful opus, but as soon as someone asks, "What's it about?" – you get flustered, over-explain, and watch your audience’s eyes glaze over. Or worse, the logline you’ve written technically summarizes your story but lacks pizzazz and a sexy hook.

Let pitching expert Laura Brennan help fine-tune your logline and craft an elevator pitch that sizzles.

Whether you have a completed script or are still rewriting, this workshop is for you. Having a dynamic logline will not only attract potential buyers, but also serve as an invaluable touchstone to reference as you write.

Participation: There is an opportunity for a limited number of pre-selected participants to have their logline workshopped during the webinar. If you’re interested, please email your current logline and the genre of your screenplay by May 17, 2022. DO NOT SEND THE SCRIPT ITSELF.

Please register for event access information.
