Join Columbia SoCal and the Columbia Business School LA Alumni Club for a special event as Columbia Business School Professor Bruce Craven speaks about leadership lessons from his highly acclaimed book Win or Die: Leadership Secrets from Game of Thrones. In the book, Professor Craven brilliantly analyzes the journeys of the best and worst leaders in Westeros, so that leaders can create their own narratives of success.
The event will be held at an alum's private residence in Santa Monica on Sunday, January 26, 2020, starting at 3pm. We will begin with networking over drinks and hors d'oeuvres, have Professor Craven speak, and finish with additional networking time over refreshments.
Tickets prices are: $20 for current club-paying members; $20 for recent alumni (graduated within five years); and $25 for all other alumni. For those who would like to purchase the book beforehand, you can purchase the book here.
Capacity is limited so please purchase early to ensure your spot for this great event!
At the Advanced Management Program in Columbia Business School, Bruce Craven teaches sessions on leadership, focusing on communication, defining purpose, flexible learning, effective messaging, and the power of writing as a tool to face future challenges. In addition to his teaching and leadership roles, he has responsibility for the pre- and post-program effort of the executive education team, including serving as an executive coach. In the summer of 2012, he launched a Columbia MBA elective course entitled Leadership through Fiction. The class uses novels, theater plays and feature films as the source material to study issues of leadership. Professor Craven's website is www.cravenleadership.com.
