Join Michael Shapiro, esteemed Shakespearean scholar, for a presentation on Henry V.
Henry V is a history play, probably written around 1599. It covers events during the Hundred Years' War, immediately before and after the Battle of Agincourt (1415). This zoom talk is illustrated with clips from Laurence Olivier’s Henry V released in 1944 film. The film marks the triumphant directorial debut of Laurence Olivier, who also coproduced and starred in the film. It is widely considered among the best film adaptations of Shakespeare’s works.
