The Asian Columbia Alumni Association invites you to join Columbia alumni and current students for an evening of networking at the Annual ACAA Welcome Back Reception featuring Melinda Aquino (insert Columbia school and year), Associate Dean of Multicultural Affairs for Undergraduate Student Life at Columbia University. Aquino has over 22 years of experience working in higher education with a focus on equity and inclusion. In the 16 years she has been at Columbia, she has worked with the Multicultural Affairs team, students, faculty and campus partners to develop programs and resources for undergraduate students at Columbia College and Columbia Engineering with a focus on intersectionality, dialogue, identity development, bias response and advocacy. She also founded the All Ivy Social Justice and Inclusion Consortium, a network of professionals among the Ivy League whose work focuses on diversity, social justice, and institutional responsibility.
Join us on Thursday, November 18th as we hear Aquino talk about how students are adjusting to coming back on campus, what programs are in place at the Office of Multicultural Affairs to support students, and her work in advancing social justice, equity and inclusion in higher education. There will also be an opportunity to network with alumni and students.
