Curator-Led Tour of "Manet and Modern Beauty" at the Getty Center

Edit as of November 8: The lottery is now closed. Thank you for your interest.

Please note: Since the tour group is limited to 25 individuals, we will hold a randomized lottery in early November to select the tour participants. Each alum is limited to bring one additional guest. We also ask that you please do not express interest unless you are sure you can attend. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Please join us for a special tour of the exhibition “Manet and Modern Beauty” at the Getty Center. The tour will be led by the exhibit’s co-curator and Columbia alumna Emily Beeny, '05CC, '16GSAS.

This first-ever exhibition to explore the last years of Manet's short life and career reveals a fresh and surprisingly intimate aspect of this celebrated artist's work. Stylish portraits, luscious still lifes, delicate pastels and watercolors, and vivid café and garden scenes convey Manet's elegant social world and reveal his growing fascination with fashion, flowers, and modern femininity, as embodied in the parisienne.
