Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Behind-The-Scenes Peek at the Situation Room Experience with Library Director, R. Duke Blackwood

Please join us Wednesday, April 3rd, for a very special visit to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley for a private behind-the-scenes introduction and demonstration of the Situation Room Experience, the world’s first U.S. presidential crisis simulation game. This multi-million dollar experience is a fully immersive and authentic simulation that takes place in the actual Situation Room from the White House that has been painstakingly reinstalled at the Library. The blending of the latest gaming technology with historic events, primary source material and realistic role-playing combine to provide an exceptionally robust experience that is the only one of its kind in the world.

Not open to the public to tour, the Situation Room Experience attracts groups that travel from around the world and spend thousands of dollars to go through the experience. We are fortunate that R. Duke Blackwood, Director of the Reagan Library, has graciously invited us into the Situation Room for an intimate conversation and behind-the-scenes look at this groundbreaking and award winning crisis simulation experience (please note that we will not be going through the actual experience). Guests will also each receive a Situation Room keepsake portfolio and a Columbia University T-shirt.

We will have an informal group reception in the café at 5:00 p.m. We plan to begin the talk and demonstration with Mr. Blackwood in the Situation Room around 5:30 p.m., which will last about 45 minutes. Cost (not including the museum tour) is $10 per guest for Columbia SoCal Club members, and $15 per guest for non-members. We have limited space for 45 guests. There is abundant free parking and if needed, wheelchairs are available on-site.

The Reagan Library Museum also offers self-guided tours for $29 (not included in the fee for this event) which include: the museum tour, Air Force One, and the current Special Exhibition “Pompeii.” The museum closes at 5:00 p.m. and we highly recommend guests plan to arrive 1-2 hours early to take the tour and visit the exhibits before our event.
