About Affordable Art Fair

Affordable Art Fair, which started in London in 1999, and has had over a million visitors to its ten locations around the world, including New York, Milan, Brussels and Amsterdam, is now coming to Los Angeles. The fair celebrates the idea that art is for everyone and proves that you do not need to be an art expert or a billionaire to have original works of art by living artists. Whether you are an experienced collector or an art novice, this fair is about the joy and excitement that art should bring to your life. At this edition, the Fair will present nearly 60 international and national galleries exhibiting original paintings, sculptures, photographs, and prints.

About Judith Pineiro, Director

As Director of the Affordable Art Fair New York City and Los Angeles, Judith Pineiro has brought extensive experience and energetic support to the fair.  She continues to further the fair's mission to make contemporary art accessible to a wide audience by highlighting emerging and established artists in a welcoming environment.  To date, the fair under her leadership has seen an increase of nearly 4,000 visitors per fair, producing overall $2.2 million in art sales at each edition.

Prior to joining Ramsay Fairs LLC, Judith was Associate Development Director for Institutional Advancement at the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD), for four years.  She joined the Museum nearly two years prior to its relocation to Columbus Circle, and was an intricate part of the team during the critical years of launching MAD's new identity and location. At the Museum, she cultivated high tier individual donors, oversaw membership development, and obtained strategic corporate partnerships/sponsorships.   Her efforts for these groups included securing promotional opportunities, overseeing domestic and international travel programs, developing and executing successful benefit packages, supervising sponsor and member special events, and leading the department's marketing into online media.  During her tenure, membership income more than doubled.

In addition, Judith was previously an Account Manager in the Museum Services Department at Christie's, Inc. for five years.  There, she cultivated institutional clients, managed donations, oversaw appraisals, orchestrated sale proposals, supervised consignments, and assisted with special events.

Her career also includes working in galleries in New York and Los Angeles, and curatorial graduate internships at the Brooklyn Museum within the Prints and Photographs Department and the Decorative Arts Department.  Judith also served as an archaeological project participant at the American Academy in Rome; and assisted in the management of the international conference Art, Antiquity, and the Law

Judith holds a M.A.in Art History with a certificate in Curatorial Studies, a B.A. in Art History, and a B.A. in Journalism/Mass Media, all from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.  She continues her professional education through courses and seminars on arts management, fundraising, and appraising fine art. A native of New Jersey, Judith currently resides in DUMBO, Brooklyn.  She is a member of ArtTable, Council of Protocol Executives, and Women in Development.
