In Memory of Dr. Sylvia Wright, former Columbia SoCal Board Member

Dr. Sylvia Wright, long-time former member of the Board of Directors of the Columbia University Alumni Association of Southern California, died on January 30, 2011.
Dr. Wright (nee Hart) was a 1958 alumna of Columbia University where she received a Master of Science in Library Sciences.
In addition to her service on the board, many of the alumni association’s annual garden parties were held at her lovely Beverly Hills home. She was a world traveler and belonged to numerous international organizations. As a member of The Explorer’s Club, Sylvia participated in adventurous and daring explorations, one of which even involved a stay with cannibals. Conversing with her was always enjoyable, great fun, and informative. She is survived by two sons and two grandchildren.
