Columbia Family Community Outreach: check out some of the last remaining urban wetlands in California, get together with other alums, and have some fun while helping the environment! Bag lunch is provided.

Save the world and bring your kids!

Join fellow Lions as we help our community and learn about our local enviroment. The morning will start with a brief, but educational, lecture for kids and adults by Friends of Ballona Wetlands about the ecosystem and the importance of wetlands. We will supply coffee, water, and a bag lunch for all participants (please email [email protected] if you want a vegan lunch). Local street parking is free on Sunday.

Freshwater and Salt Marsh and Dune Tour and Habitat Restoration

This is an informative nature tour of the freshwater and salt marshes and dunes that make up the local wetlands. See a wonderful variety of birds, learn about native plants and how the freshwater system works.  Learn about our coastal ecosystem and explore the wonders of nature right in the middle of urban Los Angeles.  Come help restore the last coastal wetland habitat in Los Angeles County.  Volunteers get hands-on experience while learning about wetland ecology. Gloves and any other necessary items are provided by Friends of Ballona Wetlands.
