Join us on Sunday July 28 at 10 AM for a joint UChicago-Columbia hike to the Hollywood Sign! This will be a leisurely 4.6 miles out and back trail with only 750 feet of elevation gain and should take 2 to 3 hours of hiking. We will be taking the Innsdale Trail, continuing up Mulholland Highway, before joining Mount Lee Drive, which will bring us up to the peak of Mt. Lee and behind the famed Hollywood Sign. All along the first part of the hike, we will be treated to stunning views of the sign, including two of the best photo spots, so make sure you put on your Instagram ready hiking outfits and Columbia gear!

All that said, this is still an outdoor hike in the summer, so we want you to be prepared. Bring sunscreen and plenty of water; hats or other head coverings may also be a good idea. The trail itself will be a mix of dirt fire roads, paved trails, and residential streets. No part of this hike is technically challenging and its short distance makes this a perfect hike for beginners.

Street parking is required for this hike, so we encourage you use a ride share service. If you do drive, look for parking on nearby Tahoe Drive or Canyon Lake Drive, which runs up a hill to the trailhead. The top of Canyon Lake Drive curves to the right and comes to a gated dirt road. This is the start of the hike.
