Join fellow Columbia alumni for a fun, intimate evening of al fresco dinning at our private table of ten at this EXCLUSIVE event. This event sells out immediately each year, but we scored a table through a club Board member! Enjoy dinner & concert with Columbia friends on the stunningly-beautiful grounds of the Mission. Learn the story of the miracle of the Swallows Returning to Capistrano each year. Have a glass of wine or three*. Laugh. Then listen to the two world-class TRIBUTE BANDS play the Rolling Stones and Rod Stewart favorites, and perhaps hit one of the outdoor dance floors!
“Music Under the Stars” is a fundraising concert series in support of preservation & sustainability of the Mission San Juan Capistrano, the aptly-named “Jewel of the Missions.” It’s located in the oldest continuously-occupied neighborhood in California, dating from the 1770’s, in the heart of downtown San Juan Capistrano.

The gates open at 5:30pm. You will see long lines of General Admission ticket holders, but you don’t have to stress like them because we have our own private, reserved table. Look for the “Columbia” colored centerpiece! Wear your Columbia colors and insignias as we will likely be informally competing with the “USC” and “UCI” tables…
5:15pm Meet promptly at the gate on the corner of Ortega Highway and Camino Capistrano. Note there are two gates near the corner, the larger main gate (with longer line) and a smaller one hidden about 100' away around the corner on Camino Capistrano. You will need to meet me to get your entry ticket! If you are late call me.
5:45 Dinner & beverages at our table
6:30 Music starts (“Rod Stewart” tribute band - opening act)
7:30 Headline band (“The Rolling Stones” tribute band - main act)
9:30pm Event concludes. Some of us will wander over to the infamous Swallows Inn for some live country music and dancing afterwards!
Ticket includes admission, seat at the table, dinner provided by Columbia SoCal (think upscale boxed dinners and appetizers), table setting, and water. BYOB – bring your favorite wine & soft drinks for yourself and perhaps to share*. Coffee & fine desserts are available from the Mission vendor.
Note: This event is a bargain because it is subsidized by Columbia SoCal and the CAA. General admission alone, way in the back with no seat or table, cost $34 alone for this event.
